artists’ statement
In my work I look to convey the raw and potent multilayered nature of existence. Only when I let my mind be silent as the soil am I able to realize the imagery I will next pursue. I am inspired by love, the void, and myself. Myself, as in how all my thoughts, feelings and actions ebb and flow with one another. Within my practice I am observing my own nature, then reflecting it back into Earth ‘s nature and seeing what bubbles up through the cross hairs. I work best when I let go of rhyme or reason, sinking into the same inconspicuous yet grandiose rhythms that allow for our planet to orbit our star, trees to fall and storms to thunder, to make a baby born, to cause a volcano to erupt. I create to document my submersion into the endless gratitude I have for being granted the opportunity to exist.
